Extensively celebrated visually on film and TV, the Highlands and Islands are also home to a broad range of creative artists – across all genres from music and theatre to painting and photography.

From famous novelists and film makers to TV writers and song writers, different aspects of the Highlands and Islands have long featured in the work of popular artists. Today, visitors can explore an eclectic mix of arts and crafts in modern galleries, local theatres and traditional music venues. From jewellery making classes to song-writing workshops, or dance classes to poetry readings, there are also many opportunities for hands-on and shared community creative experiences.
