Wildcat Trail

By Kirsty Neilson

A cream piece of fabric with a brown Scottish wildcat stitched on top. The words 'Wild Cat Trail' are stitched in brown above the cat. A tribute to the rare Scottish Wildcat

This represents my favourite walk round the village of Newtonmore (Scottish Gaelic: Baile Ùr an t-Slèibh). Along the way, approximately a 10km path, over 100 ‘cats’ can be spotted. It is a popular experience for visitors, especially for those with children. Hopefully with the recent rewilding efforts real wildcats will once again roam this area.
