I lived for many years in Aberdeenshire and the skyline is Bennachie and Mither Tap, the second skyline is The Cat's Back above Strathpeffer near to where I live now, in Marybank. The symbols are the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella which I have walked from Chartres and The Northern Pilgrims' Way from Tain to Kirkwall which I helped develop. The boots are one of my modes of travel and the Mazda MX5 is the other. I love them both equally.

This audio forms part of a series of audio interviews conducted in 2023 by Smartify as part of the Spirit of the Highlands and Islands project. Listen and discover the Spirit of the Highlands and Islands through the eyes of the stitchers of the Tapestry of the Highlands and Islands.

Join Marilyn as she discusses the inspiration behind her journey stone in conversation with Smartify.

I was torn between wanting to do something about my local area, i.e. here, and something about me...so, my journey stone has got my car on it and it has profiles on it of the Cat's Back...and also The Gordon Way, Bennachie...where we lived before we came here.
