The Rough Bounds of Lochaber
The following poem was written by the story author (anonymous):
On the tide-swept sands, a yellow rose.
In the Rough Bounds where men and women,
washed up in those great houses on deserted shores
by loch and sea in the desperate days of war,
were drilled in the skills of sabotage.
To infiltrate, kill silently, destroy.Seeing no-one we walked on with the ghosts
across empty strands, through ancient oak woods,
by a boat-house they would have known
hidden among rocks along the Road to the Isles.
In the harbour a tribute granite pillar
and carved at its base, a rose.
