I decided to stay

Twenty years ago I was living in Manchester and had just come out of a toxic relationship so I decided to visit a childhood friend that was living in Beauly for a couple of weeks. Whilst I was here I couldn’t believe how friendly everyone was. I was overwhelmed with how beautiful a simple drive into town was.

Whilst in town I saw a job advert for a job exactly the same as mine and it got me thinking - could the dream become a reality? That night my friends took me for a drink at Dores. Drinking a pint of Guinness and looking at that view I decided to apply for the job and, if I got it, to stay.

20 years later, I’m married to my soul mate, have made the best friends I’ve ever had in my life & have never been happier. I have found my true home in the Highlands.
