TELLING THE STORY OF THE HEARTLANDS PANEL

Eden is a musical theatre student at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. She has lived in Pitlochry ever since she was a young child and it is where she went to school. Eden is very creative and musical and used to go to ballet school classes locally. In addition to working at Pitlochry Festival Theatre from time to time, she has also appeared in productions there.

From the church it is possible to see Ben y Vrackie, the mountain behind Pitlochry. The Baptist church which was built in 1884. The Atholl Centre which was built at the back of the church in 1971, is a convenient venue and meeting place for the local community with conference facilities and accommodation.

Prior to the beginning of the stitching of each tapestry panel, each stitcher of the Tapestry of the Highlands and Islands was tasked with telling their interpretation of the 'Spirit of the Highlands and Islands' within a blank outline of a stone. The possibilities were truly endless - is it represented in the land? The people? A historical site? A favourite memory?
